NEF Africa Science Week
We partner with The Next Einstein Forum to implement NEF Africa Science Week in The Gambia. It is Africa’s annual weeklong celebration of science and technology involving thousands of individuals – from students to scientists to technologists – to encourage citizens to get involved in science all across the continent. The NEF Africa Science Week targets people from all age groups, includes events, activities, and talks, and shows for every age group. It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of African scientists to the body of knowledge of science and elicits interest in scientific pursuits among the public.
 
The Gambia Disability Impact Trust Fund

It is an initiative founded by Bliss Executives, Heeno Foundation, Taf Africa Foundation and The Gambia Federation of Disables with an objective to support persons with disability in the Gambia to gain access to capacity building, business development and most especially access to finance. A sum of $21,300 has been raised to kick start this initiative. The funds will be given to the participants as loans, through a micro finance institution, after they have received trainings on business and entrepreneurship from us. The funds are earmarked for participant’s income generating activities only. We have financed 40 individuals and 45% of them are women.

Seedstars World competition

We partner with Seedstars annually to implement World’s Biggest Startup Competition in Emerging Markets in Gambia annually. Seedstars World promotes, connects and invests up to $1 Million in emerging market startups through its exclusive startup competition in over 75+ countries. We facilitate the activities inThe Gambia where we give the startups a training, identify and select the best seed-stage startup and award the winners with an opportunity to compete in a Regional Event to get qualified to join the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland, where one of them will be crowned Seedstars World Global Winner. We also implement a 3 months’ investment readiness program to all the tech startup to get them investment ready and 10% of the startups are women.

Career and Investment Expo

We partnered with Gamjobs and Bridging Gaps Advisory to organized the first career and Investment expo in all regions in The Gambia. The event which was supported by UNDP through the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Employment and Regional Integration (MOTIE) brought over 200 participants including job seekers, companies, public institutions and students to network, interact and learn job application skills. It also gives companies the opportunities to showcase their products and recruit staff instantly.
 

Give1 Project Youth Impact Hub

This co-working space is set up to create access to networks, resources and the right tools and environment to drive and propel innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership for youth.
